Conference Overview
Botany 2004 represents the annual
meeting of four professional societies, including: the American Bryological and
Lichenological Society (ABLS), the American Fern Society (AFS), the American
Society of Plant Taxonomists (ASPT), and the Botanical Society of America (BSA).
The conference will be held in Snowbird, Utah from July 31 to August 5,
2004, and the theme for Botany 2004
will be “Alpine Diversity: Adapted to the Peaks.”
Members of all participating
societies are encouraged to organize and lead scientific field trips at the
annual meeting. Scientific field trips can be either theme-based or more
general in scope. In addition, field trips can be single-day or multi-day
events and typically take place on the days before or after the paper, poster,
and symposium sessions. Field trips are ticketed
events and generally have limited enrollments. Careful consideration must
be given to logistical issues. Field trip organizers will work closely with
a Local Field Trip Coordinator, who will also solicit field trip ideas from
local and regional botanists. |
